Jim's new town!

Bamburg is beautiful! What a great place to be. Jim's new house is located about 7km outside of the downtown so it offers great views of trees and rolling green hills but still the convenience of all that the city has to offer.

His new house is great. He has lots of space, hardwood floors, and a huge balcony that has beautiful views!! The house is located really close to the river that has an awesome bike path. I went for a run a bit ago and was pleasantly distracted by all the beauty around me!

Weinfest!!

Last night we went out to dinner in downtown Bamberg on the river. So pretty!!

Then we decided walk around and explore the city. We stumbled onto a wine fest that was going on with a live band from Italy. There were tons of people and all sorts of Germans out enjoying the evening. We tasted a couple different wines and then we ran into one if Jim's friends from base.

Luckily this guy has lived in Bamberg for quite sometime and took us on a walking tour through town giving us tons of history on the town while introducing to all of the great restaurants and good places to hang out.

We are going to his house tonight for a BBQ and then prob out to explore more of what Bamberg has to offer!! Should be a blast!

It's summer again!!

So I'm devoting my travels this summer to Germany. Starting off in Bamburg (where Jim now lives) and going through Munich, Berlin, Dresden, and lots of other small towns along the way. I started my first day in Nuremberg, where my plane flew in. I traveled down to the center of town and was pleasantly surprised with all there was to do.

I started to walk into the city remembering when we came here two years ago at Christmas to experience the the markets that sold all sorts of Christmas goodies. At that time I thought it was just a cute little town, but now I know that it has a lot to offer. In the center of town I found vegetable and fruit markets where I bought the biggest cherries I've ever seen!

Don't worry I washed them!! Don't want to take any chances with the whole E. Coli scare. I also got some schnitzel and sat in the center of town on the steps and ate my lunch.

I then headed off on the train to Bamburg where Jim picked me up at the station.
